Rediscovering An Old Love

Last night I was going through my drawers looking for something. I can’t even recall what I was searching for because I got distracted by my past.

Some of my old Nintendo memories :)

I felt like I discovered treasures when I found them all!

First, I spotted my Nintendo DS Lite (because it was bigger) followed by my Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP. I never really owned any of the big game consoles so these lovely little ones are all I have. I had a Game Boy Color once, but then I lost it…in a taxi…in Shenzhen, China. Tragedy. Pokemon Crystal was the only survivor.

As you can tell, I have a great love for Pokemon that has sizzled, but not dissipated, over time. I still love playing it when I can. I was completely unaware of the fact that I owned 6 Pokemon versions, though.

My DS Lite doesn’t feel very old until I realise that I’ve had it for 5 years, which sounds remarkably older than it feels. But my GBA SP feels super old…I think I’ve had it for 9 years now…and it still works! For some reason, the screen looks like it’s been through some internal trauma and the battery isn’t exactly at it’s prime but it functions and I can still happily play games on it.

Ah! I remember the days of linking by cables, and the discovery of the wireless adapter on the SP. The young days when life was much simpler and these were a vital part of my existence…hahaha… 🙂
