If you could write a note to your younger self in just two words, what would you say?
“Love yourself.”
It is the hardest thing to learn to do but once you figure it out…you’ve achieved everything. It sounds dramatic but it’s the truth.
Ten years ago, I didn’t love myself. I didn’t know how. I really pretty much loathed who I was, what I looked like, anything, everything about me. Ten years later, I love myself immensely (in the least narcissistic way possible). When you learn to love yourself, you gain a freedom and a peace and joy in your life. You gain a respect for yourself and there’s no more “I don’t deserve [insert something you didn’t think you deserve here]”. You see yourself in a better light, things look more positive and, sometimes, you realise you deserve more. I mean, you want your loved ones to have the best so why wouldn’t you want that for yourself as well?
“To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance” ~ Oscar Wilde
